Our Place: The Always Pan (Black Friday Offer)
A commercial review of a Black Friday offer, featuring one of the most popular cookware that's as beautiful as the founder herself.

We never turn down an opportunity to cook. This has been going on since childhood back in the late nineties, and nowadays, everyone is into food and cooking. Given the mixed reviews of pots and pans today, it's pleasing to see start-ups, in this case with founder Shiza Shahid, seeing success in the culinary industry. Seeing this ad streaming on YouTube pop up on a frequent basis back in 2021, it's time we take a look and see what the hype is all about.
This 1-minute ad is a quick story of the Always Pan: A pan made to serve as a multi-tasking cookware able to prep food in nearly any way possible, from boiling to frying, to sautéing and baking. Granted, we've heard and seen informercials say the same things and is often a hit or miss (depending on how you take good care for your pans, including what and how you prep your foods). Anyway, the pan looks promising and neat to add to one's kitchen. The demonstrations are nice and proves what this pan is capable of. Being that the demand is high, Shiza says it's worth waiting, and after using it, cooks will not be disappointed.
Both the video and audio were done well, and the editing wasn't anything crazy or, for our sake, too fast paced—fast pans, fast talking and frequent jump cuts. This ad was gentle and presented all it had to say within a span of a minute; It felt cozy to watch and listen to. You may notice the text box with an arrow pointing left saying, "Black Friday offer!" Since this was shown on YouTube, when watched on their video player, there's a link that pops up on the bottom left corner that enables viewers to click on. This will redirect them to their website, and in this case, able to shop and purchase. For the audio, the soundtrack is pleasant to listen to and the sound quality of the narrator and Shiza herself is great with no hum or buzz. This ad was professionally done.
Only one thing: When Shiza said "trust me, it's worth the wait," we personally found that to be a bit of turn-off. When selling a product or service, saying "trust me" isn't an attractive statement when making a sale. Imagine someone selling you a car, telling you it runs fine then concludes by saying "trust me." Would you trust them? It's not a harsh critique, especially if someone like Shiza was still in the process of getting comfortable in marketing but it wasn't in good taste. (According to her Wikipedia article, she pursued a career as business analyst.) Again, given her academic background it's fine, but from a consumer perspective, it's not a good way to convince someone to check out or purchase their product(s)/service(s). Then again, her pan has been receiving rave reviews and positive feedback so that all speaks volumes.
In a digital world with fast-paced cuts, fast talking and eye-straining zooms, it's nice to watch an ad that's laid back and relaxing to the eyes. The audio quality and the soundtrack makes this ad even more enjoyable and worthy of being aired on national TV and all major streaming platforms as well. Beautiful ad showcasing a beautiful item created and founded by a beautiful woman: You can't ask for anything more.
