ampm Double Stuff Crust Pepperoni Pizza

Perfect for the on-the-go "temporary hunger eliminator" to those who need a quick, inexpensive lunch. As mentioned on our ingredients list, written below, you're better off paying more for a higher quality pizza elsewhere.

Mmmm...gas station food. Whether you're filling up your car's tank or want a quick bite, some of the treats you find at a gas station can be very tempting yet delicious. Running into this, I find that you can't go wrong: a cheese-stuffed crust pizza? Holy crap.

Now, granted, hot food items like these things sit in a hot-box for a period of time. You may be lucky you may snatch one that was just placed in the hot-box or you may get one that's been sitting there for a week. That itself is a bit of a gamble, especially if you don't mind spending roughly $2-$3 on this pizza unless you're near suffering from starvation. For myself, I went ahead and did so for the sake of this review.

The taste? Excellent, I must say. For a quick munch, this is a perfectly crafted pizza—cheese-stuffed crust pizza with all the basics. This is certainly going to hold you over until your next big meal for the day. It is also one of those meals that great to eat before you're in the long, lengthy drive to your destination. The tomato sauce was a little bit too much but besides that, this is a great product to get!

While I stand by my ratings, I have just one critique: the ingredients. Okay, perhaps a lot of you folks take the PROFILE information for granted (always shown at the bottom of this page). However, it's there for a good reason, namely writing down the ingredients used to make these food products. Why is that? Apparently upon jotting down all the information, I found this:

Protein Product* [Soy Protein Concentrate, Zinc Oxide, Niacinamide Ferrous Sulfate, Copper Gluconate Vitamin A Palmitate, Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamine Mononitrate {B1} Pyridoxine Hydroclorid [sic] {B6}, Riboflavin {B2}, And Cyanocobalamin {B12}]

*Ingredient Not Found In Regular Pepperoni.

Then what am I eating? "Pretend" pepperoni? My guess is it's made that way to reduce the meat from spoiling. Reminds me of that video showing McDonald's food not decomposing after a period of time. Given how delicious this pizza looks, this may sway away some hungry folks looking for something fresh.

It's a great choice to fill your hunger completely for the next few hours. Thing is, now that you know the ingredients and what's in it, you may want to consider bear claws or spicy peanuts. Other alternatives in the hot-box from ampm are burgers and hot dogs, but personally, I wouldn't bother with those.
