Kroger Macaroni & Cheese (Original)

The taste of these are less sharp, which may satisfy food fans who have limited their cheddar in-takes. Nevertheless, the smooth delicious taste will make this a neat affordable alternative for foodies not wanting to break the bank.

When someone says "comfort food," my face lights up with unrequited contentment. No kidding, since comfort food fills you up real good and doesn't take too much to prepare (it depends but this is speaking in general). Come another wonderful product from Kroger with this simple Macaroni and Cheese!

While there is an option to prepare this with a microwave, I prefer the stove top as the final product results in better quality (that's just me). Cooking this is a no-brainer, much like cooking a packet of Maruchan ramen noodles. Since this is pasta, you're looking for a bit of resistance, al denté, before adding in the margarine and the dry sauce mix. Because this is the original flavor, this is one of those you can pizazz up, adding your own personal ingredients to make it "gourmet." Having said that, I can see restaurants buying this in bulk, cooking and adding their own spin, then serve to customers at a high price. Business is business, isn't it?

The taste is exactly what you'd expect: delicious, tender and the ooze of the cheese makes this satisfying to the tongue. (Yes, it's spelled "tongue," NOT "tounge." LEARN TO SPELL RIGHT, PEOPLE.) For me personally, I add droplets of Sriracha hot chili sauce, often times top it with shredded parmesan cheese, or sometimes add cooked ground beef to give it that "cheeseburger" taste. Heck, you can use this to make mac and cheese burgers or mac and cheese cupcakes (yes, they make those)!

This is simply mac and cheese; There isn't much more that needs to be said that hasn't been mentioned. It's a dish that satisfies anyone at any age. Nowadays, since dishes are more creatively built to increase its value and deliciousness, this very box can serve as a perfect ingredient to build your excellent culinary masterpiece. With this box being sold for less than $1, I don't see why you can't have several of these in your pantry.

Excellent product, Kroger!

  • The not-too-sharp taste of this mac and cheese will surely challenge the popular, mainstream brands out there. Price is also very reasonable.
