Kainbeats: A Chill Artist with Chill Beats

No matter how awful things turn out for you, there will always be light at the tunnel's end. Whatever it is you're going through, you just have to sense where that light is and in what form. For me, personally, that light came in the form of music, all thanks to all I've been through in 2022. Who would've thought such light—music—would've been found during a job I was training for?

I was training for a job in relation to the hospitality and [casino] gaming industry. We were training virtually that time, and when we had to do some studying of the card games, its rules, and gameplay, our head supervising trainer was playing some really laidback music during the Zoom call (we had to remain on camera while working on these modules). As I did what I was assigned, I took a moment to grab my phone, load up Shazam and quietly "shazam'd" the soundtrack that our supervisor was playing for us. It took a few tries, especially doing so subtly, and it finally popped up: Kainbeats. I didn't think much of it but I wasted no time searching on YouTube.



I was amazed. The first track I heard and "shazam'd" happened to be Timeless Gift in collaboration with Hoogway. I was in love and placed this song on repeat my entire week. This was the most soothing soundtrack I've ever heard and I loved every bit of it. I began to explore more songs and fell in love. I became a fan, instantly.

What about that job? I eventually quit due to on-going health issues I was still undergoing (I eventually recovered but am not sure about going back, even though I'd love to work in a casino). The consolation I got from it was knowing the artist of the chill music they were playing so there's that.

In case you're wondering, the mastermind behind Kainbeats is Keane Wang—a composer and medical student, whose inspiration came from classical music.

Itching at 4,000 subscribers, I feel that artists like these are just waiting to be discovered. Given all the madness going on in the world, our current economic situation, we need to sit back and relax. What better way to lay back and listen to some chill tracks from the main man himself? I mean, any restaurants with a relaxing setting may as well play these soundtracks (use with permission, of course). If you're a content producer or a streamer, you can also use these tracks so long as you provide credits. One of my favorite streamers, George Hotz joked he couldn't find appropriate music for his streams, eventually playing 8-bit music to which I praised him for in this article. Hotz, if you're reading this, give Kainbeats a try!

The titles for his songs are also unique, easy to remember, and often follow the themes for the albums themselves. For example, a song like "Heart of the Ocean" is featured on the album Atlantis; The song "The Cloud Station" is featured on the album Dreamseeker, and so on (fun fact: both my mom and my sister love the soundtracks "Heart of the Ocean" and "Ripples of Light").



Unlike most chefs who cook because it's their job and not caring about the quality, taste and reviews from the customers, Kainbeats has stated that ALL his music were made with love and care. Granted, this isn't a review but a shoutout and praise to an artist that deserves more attention. Whether you're studying, looking to take a nap or go to sleep, need tracks for a long drive or the usual streaming or video game project, Kainbeats has you covered, all thanks to his inspiration from classical music. When I think of classical music, I think of KUSC Radio. If KUSC ever hosted a "Modern Classical/Instrumental Music Hour," I would love to hear them play tracks from Kainbeats, given that I listen to KUSC from time to time.

We mentioned video game projects, yes, Keane can provide and collaborate for that! So far, Keane's musical pieces are perfect for role-playing games (RPGs), relatable to tracks from Final Fantasy. I'm sure composers like Nobuo Uematsu will be proud and wouldn't mind hearing Keane's pieces. Not just video games, but movies are another excellent choice as well. To all producers, you're looking at a musician who will soon be in demand if you don't book a collaboration with him already (he may have a long list of clients coming up).

Anyway, we simply love the heart and soul Keane has produced with his music and it shows. It's rare to see someone dedicated in his craft and continues to produce out of love. It's high time we give these artists a chance, in the case for Keane, it'll be difficult to imitate his masterpieces. He and his music style are one of a kind.
