Money Market Review (06/08/2026-06/12/2026)
AI dominated headlines this week. Is anyone surprised?

If there's anything you should get out of this week, it's all about AI. Also, Bitcoin is plunging, making investors, such as Mark Cuban, to sell stock. Otherwise, it felt like another week. However, given that AI is the talk of the town, robotics are creeping into the conversation. Are you ready for human-like computers?

Apple implements AI through their popular Siri, after a long wait. Oil began to climb on this day, due to on-going tensions with Iran. Either way, reports have come out that Americans are running out of money. If you don't believe that, ask CEOs of Whirlpool, Kraft, and McDonald's: all who chimed in on the same notion. Maybe the Boomer generation is to blame, as reports state that they fear outliving their money. That's nice, but look at us: are we any different? They should host a podcast on Spotify talking about it, as they're looking to introduce live video, plus concert tickets, on their platform. Meanwhile, Pepsi is loving the idea of a driver-less future for delivery.

Mentioning Boomers earlier, mark this day: Yahoo! reported that Social Security could run out within 6 years. That's nice, so while they're holding on, and grasping, wealth every which way, they'll need another supplement to gain money as they approach their 80s/90s. Maybe they can ask China, as they're spending $300 billion dollars on more data centers. Or, boomers can turn to Kalshi to min money; only for them to report job details in order to inside trade. Looks like the road is going to get rough with Boomers.

According to a poll, about 53% of Americans fear that AI will take their job(s). Alright, so we're running out of money, and fear for automation overtake? Perhaps, it's time to invest and trade as US futures rose again on this day for the strikes in Iran. I'm sure workers in the Xbox division may consider, as their new CEO plans job cuts. It's the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?

US futures rise waiting on Spacex's IPO. Well, not so much with oil: dropping after President Trump calls off strikes on Iran. Looks like it's the waiting game for SpaceX, as a mariner is putting 10% of her paycheck into Elon Musk's company for two years. Anyone else have their money ready for SpaceX?

It's finally here, and SpaceX closed the day almost up 20%. This also marks the day Elon Musk becomes a trillionaire. Makes me wonder who'll be in the running for world's first quadrillionaire? Anyway, there was a protest taking place in response to SpaceX's IPO, but reports say it's about Wall Street, and not about the rich. On the other hand, peace talks with Iran led to a rise in stocks today. Alongside that, oil prices have dropped again. Today was all about shooting for the stars.
While there were some rough patches, this week ended well; shooting for the stars, so to speak. Elon Musk has reached trillionaire status already. Another piece of news is that Department of Justice allowed Paramount-Skydance to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery, despie the legal setbacks. Once again, this remains to be seen. Oil prices kept fluctuating this week yet again. It's like the news deliberately says, "oh peace talks are in. Just kidding! No, seriously though. Just kidding again! Okay, for real, this time: peace talks are in." Then as this month continues on, then what, "Hah! Just kidding again! You thought so, huh?!" Is this a game or what? Not sure, but I'm sure traders of oil are going bonkers right now. All remains to be seen next week, but don't get your hopes up.
Anything that stood out to you this week? Did you invest in SpaceX? How will things fare out on the Paramount-Warner Bros drama? Let's talk all about it in the comments section below!
