Money Market Review (06/01/2026-06/05/2026)
More AI talk this week. What else is new?
Kris Caballero • Jun 06, 2026 • 0 comments • Posts
If there's anything you should get out of this week, it's all about AI. Also, Bitcoin is plunging, making investors, such as Mark Cuban, to sell stock. Otherwise, it felt like another week. However, given that AI is the talk of the town, robotics are creeping into the conversation. Are you ready for human-like computers?

Looks like remote work is to blame for job hiring, especially for new graduates. You think? Perhaps it's virtual-signaling, because OpenAI is looking to enter robotics: challenging Tesla's Optimus. If AI software wasn't enough, it'll now take on human-like conjectures, doing some of the work many don't want. We're sure those robots will use Nvidia's new super chip, challengiing Intel. It's like this day was all about competition: who will win?

Oil prices are back up on this day. It's almost as if, "oh people are getting gas because it's cheap?! Raised the prices again!" We could say find a job, but while openings increased in April, actual hirings declined. What's the matter: are people afraid to lose their job(s) to a better candidate?

US stocks futures slide on this day, thanks to the Iranian War. War fatigue, anyone? Perhaps, not on war, but on cryptocurrency: Bitcoin continues to drop. Speaking of dropping, that's what Uber is doing to their workforce: cutting them by 23%, under new management. Old goes out, new comes in, as this day, Yahoo! introduces AI-powered experiences with their Finance and Sports apps. Makes us wonder how the users feel about that.

Reports state that AI being the major contributor to layoffs. Okay, so it wasn't remote work after all? Do these reports change their findings or shift blame? Either way, AI development will have to be stopped as suggested by Anthropic. That's right: AI is gradually getting smarter as we speak, putting an existential threat before we know it. Makes us wonder if AI companies, like Anthropic, will spread the same message when it comes to water shortage. You think?

President Trump's team is looking into the US having a stake in AI companies. Looks like tech and AI will dictate our economy; and with more people having negative feelings about it, so goes the economy. Bitcoin fell below $60,000 for the first time since 2024. And CFPB is telling banks to review immigration statusus for borrowers.
Not much of a great week. For those invested in cryptocurrency, we hope you sold some, if not, all, your stock. Just when things were getting better, it got worse. Still no word on the status of US-Iran conflict, as that is affecting markets. While not too much went on, as attention seems to be on the side of current events, it was a rough week.
Any thoughts or reactions for this week? Do you plan to buy the Bitcoin dip? How will markets shake in terms of the geopolitical tensions? Let's talk all about it in the comments section below!
