Money Market Review (06/15/2026-06/19/2026)
Peace be with you [too].

Looks like peace is underway, and oil is dropping rather quickly. While we did mention about Paramount getting the approval from Department of Justice in their purchase of Warner Bros, Fox did the same with Roku. For traders and investors, they're having a great time with SpaceX this week. Perhaps, space is the place to do business, huh? May as well open up your business on the Moon!

Fox has bought Roku for $22B. There's no backlash over that one. Same with public school layoffs, due to budget cuts. Either that, or more families are choosing to homeschool their child(ren); and there's nothing wrong with that! There's also nothing wrong with boneless chicken and boba: items that KFC is looking to add while revamping their menu. YouTube Food Reviewers will be on top of that when it's released. Another entity who's on top of things is Qualcomm, looking to purchase AI chip startup Tenstorrent. If you're an entrepreneur, start up a computer chip company and these bigger companies will purchase it!

(Stock results unavailable on this day.) Yum Brands are struggling to sell Pizza Hut. Even after YouTubers like and made videos about it? If anything, Yum Brands should thank them for extra marketing; it's like corporations aren't happy when independent creators do something for them. It's time shareholders should shift their investments toward social media creators, independent entities, and more. It's news like this that anger me: an owner selling a company, despite internet personalities promoting and increasing sales for them; yet, not acknowledging, hiring them, or thanking them for it. Yum Brands should announce layoffs of their marketing team. Why? BlackRock is doing the same: a third round of layoffs in 18 months. Those employees on the "chopping block" ought to gift themselves Specs: the new augmented reality—AR—glasses from Snap. However, they should watch their nickels and dimes because parents are jumping back into the workforce—if that wasn't obvious already. That's right: your parent(s)/grandparent(s)/guardian(s) are back to work, taking whatever job is available to make ends meet. What more can I say?

President Trump says that Apple will partner with Intel on US chip design. Sounds like we'll all need a bag of chips to munch on for that. In fact, Apple is looking to raise prices due to chip shortage. I'm sure social media influencers, marketing and raving for Apple, won't mind; and their audiences won't either. Speaking of tech, a coalition wanting to reduce carbon emissions has raised nearly $1B. Let's hope there won't be any "JUST STOP OIL" protestors on the streets because of it. I mean, will they get some of that money, too?

SpaceX drops after a three-day winning streak. Did stock market reporting and finance turn into sports? For investors of oil, I'm sure of it, since gas prices have fallen below $4 since March. This included mortgage rates dropping as well. What didn't drop, amid remaining stable, is the job market; yet jobless claims still have hints of increases. On the topic of increase are taxes in California, which gained enough signatures for the 2026 ballot. Given the corruption being exposed, yet silenced and punished, word has stated that it may not show up on the ballot. Imagine that: the people show, and prove, that wrong-doings are aplenty, yet those in power seek to silence such voices. After all, why remain obedient to those in power, when they, themselves, cannot/will not abide by their own rules/laws? I suggest Elon Musk purchase the entire state of California, then call it "Elonifornia." His company SpaceX is stationed in Hawthorne, so...

Nuclear talks have stalled, in addition to peace deals with US-Iran relations. A change of heart/mind? You can ask that same question to US scientist, and vice president, John Jumper, as he's leaving Google DeepMind for Anthropic. Even with layoffs, now top AI experts are leaving Google: why is that? What's going on at Google? Sounds like they're having a rough time, from their experts quitting to negative word-of-mouth with their AI-powered search engine. Maybe it's their headquarters in California, which is now stated to be the capital of multi-generational housing. It's getting expensive in the Golden State, so if that's your style of living, you know where to go. Perhaps that lifestyle may not be for everyone: much like Snap's new AR glasses, slammed for not having any kind of style. What a bummer, as it's uninspiring enough for a country artist to sing about it; I say so since Miranda Lambert has a song titled "Pink Sunglasses." Go figure. (Snap, that was a missed opportunity; same with you, Meta.)
This week ended well, though now there's another speculation about peace talks between US and Iran. Will conflict continue? Maybe it's time to continue investing in SpaceX, as they've been thriving since going public. "Thriving" shall be the keyword for Fox, having bought Roku to start this week. Let's hope they do well, and that includes our parents, grandparents, and/or guardians, given that they're mostly returning to work. Maybe it's time to lower your blood pressures in case you have a customer complaint against 83-year-old Martha, who's just working to survive and not looking for trouble nor a fight. Can entitled customers be able to do that? Anyway, it's been a good week, as we shall see how strong it'll remain as we head near toward this month's end.
Did you invest in SpaceX? Any thoughts on Fox purchasing Roku? Will we see more of our old folks back in the workplace? Let's talk all about it in the comments section below!
