Covering the markets of this week, despite ending on a low note.

Trading and investing during a government shutdown: What could possibly go right/wrong? Markets seem to have some good days, while closing was rough. Other than that, this government shutdown is affecting certain sectors such as travel. For those on the crypto space, stocks have dropped heading into the end of this week. In addition, trade talks has caused such a big plunge, making things look a bit dreary once the new week starts. Because of that, there's been a huge amount of selling, but let's recap and see how we got here.

This was the day where OpenAI announces that users of ChatGPT can connect via Spotify and Zillow on their respective apps. Also, Gold reached $4,000 despite government shutdown. However, unemployment in the US rise in contrast to the labor market freezing. Interesting how reports of a recesssion is not being mentioned, though it seems to be. Aren't we in one already?

As markets hit a new high, though we apologize for not getting the closing stats for Tuesday's stocks, US is taking equity stake in metals. On the subject of buying, Paypal announced that US customers will earn 5% cash back when choosing the Paypal Buy Now, Pay Later. Looks like payment installments are the thing, reflective of consumer spending as of late.

"Stocks that stood out for Wednesday" is not available.

There's been talks about the AI bubble, with response to the millions of dollars spent. Granted, Jensen says AI demand is up and still growing. Speaking of millions, Elon Musk settled with $128M filed against former Twitter executives. On this day, Ikea acquires a logistics tech platform to further improve home delivery. This may likely boost stocks related to moving, home decor and possibly renting.

One of the big takeaways from this day was oil dropping due to the focus on Gaza and global supply. For tech, OpenAI is trying to build more data centers for AI, yet Natya Nadella responds and said that Microsoft has already gotten them. How often do you get a CEO responding to what a company is doing, saying "[we] already have them"? It's like going into a gym, seeing someone lift weights, then approaching and telling them, "I'm already muscular and I don't need to lift weights." Yeah, very unnecessary for Nadella to say.

Venture Global Inc. -24.88%

Friday took a hit, as there were too many stocks that plunged this day. This was due to the tariffs and stiff trade talks. For those invested in crypto, digital currencies also took a big hit today. Both have led to a huge market sell-off, leaving plenty of uncertainty going into next week. We hope those of you have traded carefully because this was a tough day.

MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW FOR THIS WEEK (10/06/2025-10/10/2025)

A very low-key, complacent week being the first in October. However, unlike what we witnessed back in September, where weeks started rough then ended on a high note, this week did the opposite. Things were steady and okay, then trade wars caused the markets to plunge. Not to say that it was an "unsuspected surprise," but perhaps it's one of those things that gets you (nothing unique, as this was something that happened before). Just when we reported that uncertainty was something to watch, that became clear with a day like today. We're not sure if things will improve, yet it has happened before, but for those smart enough to sell prior to this plunge, purchase carefully! It's only a matter of time before things kick back up, though it'd be nice to know when and how much.

What were your biggest takeaway from this week? Were you cautious of what happened on Friday, with the market plunging? Will you take this chance to purchase stocks while it's down? Let's talk about it in the comments section below!
