The Numbers Are In (2025): Week 12 Recap

Week 12 featuring scores from Sports.Yahoo.com!

Last week was rather dry in terms of plays and highlights. However, things are getting interesting on behalf of rankings/records. While there are teams who unanimously not going to make the playoffs, they have abilities to "disrupt" another team's standings. Perhaps this week is a better one than the last, you think? Let's take a look.

Bills played their game as usual, but somehow looked weak in some possessions. This gave plenty of wiggle room for the Texans to take control. Had the Texans play this way throughout this season, they'd likely lead the AFC South. Anyway, Texans also won Money Line and Point Spread on the betting side; no "Grand Slam" in this game. We thought this was going to be an easy game for the Bills, and saw that we were wrong. On the other hand, if the Texans keep this up, they might still have a chance.

Both teams kept within distance throughout both the first and second half. This certainly was a nail-biter, but the Bears mauled their way through thanks to their defense. No "Grand Slam" on the betting side, especially given that Point Spread ended in a push. While this could've went into overtime, that last play by the Steelers looked "bear-ish." Anyway, this game presents "battle of the North" so to speak, as Steelers are currently tied with Ravens per AFC North, and Bears lead NFC North—one game ahead of the Packers.

Bengals had a great start until their poor defense allowed Patriots to take control; granted, only two touchdowns by Bengals and that was it. Patriots are simply un-stoppable, showing their red-white-blue pride getting their 10th with this game; they're also 6-0 on the road. Despite the loss, most of the betting wins went to Cincinnati via Point Spread and Total Points. Unless the Bills are looking to do something miraculous, it's looking like Patriots securing the AFC East.

Wan'Dale Robinson (Giants) started the game with that great catch for a touchdown; we were impressed by that play. In fact, Giants held a 10-point lead near the second half end, until Lions roared their way back. This game went into overtime where Lions ruled the football kingdom. While they lost, Giants won the Point Spread and Total Points per betting. Speaking of which, this game had the Point Spread at ±10.5, only to close at a whopping ±14. That's a huge shift! Betting must have been on the side of Giants, until that shift led in favor of Lions. Crazy, given that Giants won't be headed to the playoffs, this was one of their best games yet. This was a great game to watch.

Only two field goals from the Vikings, as they had no chance in this game. Packers played well all throughout and looked solid as ever. Especially more solid was them hitting the "Grand Slam" winning all three betting sections. Green Bay is one game behind Chicago in the NFC North, so this win was well needed. Jaxson Smith-Njigba was absolutely amazing in this game; we're sorry that NFL's useless rule in penalizing celebrations, like slam dunking, is fully enforrced as we've made the argument that these players have one chance in being young. Let these young players celebrate how ever they see fit—whether it's 'dabbing' or the '6-7/67' trend, LET KIDS BE KIDS. You might as well require suits and ties as team uniforms for these players. Anyway, as for the game, Seahawks kept soaring high; and while Titans showed some fight, it wasn't enough. No "Grand Slam" here in terms of betting, but Seahawks looked great. This was a much needed win for them, pushing Seattle one game behind Rams, who are leading the NFC West, currently.

Colts were one of the most impressive teams this season. What looked like an easy game actually went into overtime. Colts looked like they were just running back and forth after holding a lead by 8 points. After that, Chiefs went to win with a game-winning field goal. No "Grand Slams" in terms of betting, but it was a decent game at best. While the loss didn't hurt much, it'll be a cause for concern, as Jaguars are 1 game behind the Colts. As for Chiefs, unless Chargers and Broncos are on a losing streak, it's looking slim for them entering the postseason.

Just when it looked like Jets were about to take control, they ran out of fuel quickly. For the Ravens, this was a needed win since a Steeler loss puts Baltimore tied with Pittsburgh. That AFC North is going to be a very tight race. No "Grand Slam" here as well, but this game, overall, looked like "another day at the office." Still, Ravens better plan ahead of time because they could easily lose their #1 spot.

It's been rough for the Raiders. Only one field goal and touchdown isn't enough to take care of business. Having gone against a team, also with a losing record, meant this shouldn't be much a factor; but at least show some kind of fight. Browns took control all game, and looked like a team that should compete in this way; had they done so, they'd be in the playoff picture. For betting, Browns won Money Line and Point Spread coming in as underdogs. Really good day for Cleveland, and if this gameplay of theirs keeps up, they can look ahead to a better season next year.

This game was a touchdown party; great scoring by both teams. Had that last-second pass been complete, Cardinals would've easily won, making this a nail-biter. Not much going on with Arizona, but they can hope to land a solid pick from the NFL Draft next year. For Jaguars, they're getting very close in catching up with the Colts—one game behind in the AFC South. Jaguars also hit the "Grand Slam" winning all three betting sections. The race for that #1 spot is getting tight, but this win sent Colts a loud message.

Rams made this game look easy having scored over 30 point in the first half; the Buccaneers became a sinking ship scoring only one touchdown. Our favorite was the touchdown by Davante Adams, who scored then ran into the hallway; reminding us of the football scenes from Forrest Gump. For betting, Rams hit the "Grand Slam" winning all three betting sections in good fashion. Tampa Bay still leads the NFC South despite the loss, but will have to think about the coming weeks; they're tied with the Panthers in the WIN column.

Carolina made some great interceptions, but never gained ground; having scored just one touchdown the entire game, which wasn't until the third quarter. The 49ers were okay, but stayed steady throughout this game. Granted, both these teams needed some kind of win as their positioning in the NFC counts...a lot. Luckily, Panthers are still within range and still has a chance to snatch that #1 spot from the Buccaneers. This win by the 49ers was key, putting more pressure on Seahawks and Rams. The race to #1 continues to tighten, as the remaining schedule will dictate who's going to the playoffs. Oh, and 49ers hit the "Grand Slam" with this game via betting.

THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS ON WEEK 12

This was a pretty good week, as evidenced by our correct picks. Some good plays here and there, but it was very much "another day at the office." However, this race toward the #1 spot in the teams' respective conferences is getting really close. As we're roughly closing in to the end of this season, it remains to be seen who'll enter into the grand stage. We won't make room to make predictions, but Chiefs may not repeat this year. Since things can turn around very quickly, we're likely going to see a new winner this year. Still, teams with a good record can have their hopes disrupted by teams with terrible records, so it's not like high-ranked teams can sit back and relax. Assuming no injuries will happen, things might hold in place but that's obviously not a guarantee. Overall, this was a great week, but NFL needs to lose that pathetic rule and punishment with regard to touchdown celebrations. Like a hockey goal, it's a score worth partying over. Anyway, we'll see what Week 13 will hold!

How did your team do this week? Anything you enjoyed or didn't? Would you like to see touchdown celebrations back in the NFL? Let's talk about it in the comments section below!
