"Disney Sing Along Songs: Mary Poppins Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" (1994)
Classic sing-a-long volume featuring the mega-hit track from "Mary Poppins."

A classic volume featuring the most enjoyable tunes that were sung and danced throughout the Disney movie spectrum. Hosted by Prof. Ludwig von Drake—no, not that Drake—he goes through some memorable tracks many viewers may remember from Disney's classic movies. That's right: This VHS is a visual jukebox, like MTV during the days when they actually aired music videos, and not corny reality shows.
Judging by the cover for this tape, this volume is marketing the hit songs from the popular movie Mary Poppins. What confused me was the title of this tape because the tape label says Volume 9 "I Love To Laugh" but on the cover, it says Mary Poppins Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. If you're a VHS collector, these are one of the tapes that will trip you out when arranging them in alphabetical order.
Besides that, this was one of my first exposures to music as a child; My very first musical artist I have listened to outside of Disney soundtracks was "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Yeah, I had a huge fond of music in the sixties and seventies disco, thanks to my parents.
This is a wonderful volume for children, and those nostalgics who just want a compilation of musical hits from Disney's film library. After watching this, you may want to find your own 'laughing place.'
"Guaranteed to turn your frown upside down."
— Prof. Ludwig von Drake
Volumes like this make you wonder: Why aren't MTV and VH1 airing music videos anymore? Apparently, reality shows or shows featuring musical artists "count" as programs featuring entities related to music. Nope. We want the music, which may be why the *great* artists don't flourish.
With that said, just listen to, or stream, your own music and view the music videos of your favorite hits at your own conveniences without depending on TV networks to take requests and/or airing weekly marathons of music videos from the classic to modern eras.
Make your weekends worthwhile: Lessen your heart's weight with this wonderful volume from Disney!
