Andy Capp's Hot Fries Corn Snack

One of the most underrated snack brands available at gas stations and/or dollar stores!

It's a treat snacking an underrated brand, despite being overshadowed by its competitors. Having discovered this snack while on vacation originally, it feels like I'm taking one whenever eaten. Another vibe received from eating this is knowing that everything is okay; in other words, it's a great snack to munch on while watching your favorite show(s), movie(s), or sports game. Let's talk about Andy Capp's Hot Fries!

Opening the bag, you'll be inundated with its flavors causing one to drool. Upon tasting, it's crispy, crunchy, and light in texture. Since these are hot flavored fries, the spices are sharp—a feeling that sort of pinches your taste buds, albeit hints of tanginess. You won't feel the need to call firefighters to put those flames out of your mouth, but its spices are enough for those who don't have a taste for spicy foods/snacks. That would make this snack perfect for everyone! Because of its taste, let alone the size of this bag, you likely can finish this bag in one sitting. Given the amount of sodium this contains, we suggest eating another batch of food, alongside this, to offset it. Otherwise, drink plenty of water.

Like with most snacks out there, Andy Capp's is guilty of "slack-fill," meaning you get less than half a bag of snacks than advertised. Depending on the bag you get, it wouldn't be enough to satisfy your cravings—having made mention that you can finish it all in one sitting. Sure, companies like these can blame inflation, high (labor) costs and more, but it's frustrating consumers. Nevertheless, seeing that we love Andy Capp's, we've implemented an automatic deduction in our ratings until this issue has been resolved. There are more than enough reasons not to eat snacks with no nutritional value, but there are times when a craving hits, even if it means breaking out of one's diet, and thus welcoming products like this. In contrast, quantity of food still matters, even if pre-packaged, so here's hoping the issue is brought to attention. Oh, and if it concerns you, this snack does not have Red 40 nor Yellow 6.

The said issue may or may not be of concern to some, and therefore, we recommend this snack highly! It's light and the crunch is enough for your teeth. A great choice if you ever want to move away from the other popular brands. Give this a try!
