The Numbers Are In (2025): Week 08 Recap

Week 08 featuring scores from Sports.Yahoo.com!

This week saw nearly half the scheduled games decided by their last play. Some unlikely teams fought the good fight, while others didn't do so well. Some records were broken, while others won on the side of betting. This week was all about thrills, with comebacks, deemed unlikely, happened among some games. The most impressive thing we witnessed this week? The announcer for Dolphins-Panthers game. See below.

Despite the slight change in their logo, Chargers handled business as usual. While there were some great plays, it was just another day at the office. For betting, Chargers won two out of the three sections, both being Money Line and Point Spread. It was an okay game, but not too much went on; just a decent Thursday Night.

Dolphins were dominant in this game; Falcons didn't have a chance. Almost landed that "Grand Slam" with regards to betting, but Total Points was a push, with the game ending at 44. Anyway, this was an easy game for the Dolphins, as there weren't too much that happened either. Good job, Miami!

Jets soared through the Bengals in what looked like an eyebrow-raising result. The Bengals had the game under their control, until Jets continually fought and itched closer during the fourth quarter. Not only that, on the betting space, Jets hit the "Grand Slam" winning all three sections. Just when the majority though this was going to be another easy game for Bengals, Jets broke plenty of predictions. What a great first win for the Jets!

For betting, Patriots won two out of three—Money Line and Point Spread. Overall, this game was fine, as Patriots add another win in their record; they have been one of the more impressive teams so far.

Giants didn't do too badly, but the Eagles continue to soar high. There were some great plays, with great touchdown passes on behalf of Eagles. Had Eagles leave a door open, the Giants would've had a chance. Other than that, this was a great game. For betting, Eagles won the Money Line and Point Spread. No "Grand Slam" here for either team, but the Eagles continue to lead the NFC East.

Bills were unstoppable in this game. Panthers looked awful, having had plenty of fumbles that Bills took advantage of, yet scoring only one touchdown. It was rough for the Panthers. More-so, Bills hit the "Grand Slam" with this one, winning all three betting sections. In terms of records, this was a much needed win for Bills as they're trying to catch up with the Patriots, who are leading the AFC East.

The Bears stuck around just fine, until that one interception in the fourth gave more momentum to Baltimore. In addition, Bears could not find a rhythm, giving as easy win to the Ravens. While they didn't hit the "Grand Slam," Ravens won Money Line and Point Spread. This is another example of a team's bad play can shift the energy over to their opponents. Currently, Ravens are 2-5 in the AFC North.

Like the Chargers, Texans used an alternate/new team logo. Perhaps, they should stick with it obtaining a nice win against the 49ers. Add to that a "Grand Slam" as the Texans hit all three sections in betting. If the Texans play this well, they can quickly turn their season around for the better. It'll be a while to catch up to the Colts, in the AFC South, but it can be done. Remarkable work, Houston!

Much like the Raiders last week, not one touchdown scored by New Orleans; though they at least scored a field goal. However, if we will: Someone must've microwaved the players' gloves with butter because there were so many turnovers/fumbles. In fact, the first points weren't scored until the second quarter. As referenced earlier, Saints played like the Raiders in this game; it was embarassing. Buccaneers looked great, and took advantage, but they, too, were a bit sloppy. Along with the win, Buccaneers won Money Line and Point Spread, on the side of betting. This was a strange game, but this win secured Tampa Bay's lead in the NFC South.

Broncos, also sporting their alternate logo, took care of business; Cowboys looked a bit dry, as their efforts weren't enough. Denver also won the Money Line and Point Spread via betting. Plenty of bettors lost this game, as majority of bets went to the Cowboys. Very interesting, despite that Dallas came in as the underdog. Other than that, it was a decent game, but Broncos secured their win, leading the AFC West.

Nice of Aaron Rodgers to face his former team...and lose. Steelers looked solid entering the second half, and held off Green Bay. Then, Packers caught up and led during most of the fourth. Also, Packers hit the "Grand Slam" winning all three betting sections. Not too bad of a Sunday Night game, but Steelers lost their strength late in the fourth.

For betting, Chiefs hit the "Grand Slam" winning all three sections. Nothing too much during and after this game, but it was a so-so Monday Night for football.

THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS ON WEEK 08

This week wasn't fun, with games being "mid," as food reviewers would say. There were some "Grand Slams" among teams, but in terms of play, there weren't too much to look back on. Some teams had not chance, reflective of that with the Raiders last week; otherwise, most games this week were just "another day at the office." Over on the betting side, favorites mostly won, giving both sports books their profits. Otherwise, this week was okay, but nothing too special.

What did you think of this week? Did your bets hit? Any games you enjoyed? Let's talk about it in the comments section below!
