Nicknamed "The City of God," the state of New York has such a breathtaking sight. Given the situation going on at the moment of this posting, let's just remind ourselves the beauty of this city. This DVD reminds us of that, using the Empire State Building as the landmark to experience its surroundings. As someone who was born, grew up and currently live in the West Coast (Los Angeles, CA), I truly can't wait to play the role of 'tourist' and immerse in the amazing sights, pace and of course food, in New York.
Look for this review to be picture-laden as this DVD covers the various sights in and around the Empire State Building.
The feature presentation starts with a cover soundtrack "New York, New York" sung by Liza Minnelli, showing shots of Empire State Building during both day and night. Shots of the inside, going in and out of the elevator are also shown. This part, the strobe effect was used as a security "blur" to guests' faces, as to not completely show the people's faces, let alone the staff members (as opposed to blurring each person's faces individually).
While you get sight-seeing angles of various areas in the city, you'll find that that's all this DVD presentation is all about. Being a little less than 20 minutes long, this seems like those videos that play on infinite loop at gift shops as background noise for the customers while they shop. Okay, perhap the word "noise" is too strong, being this presentation features amazing saxophone music—the kind you hear at shopping malls, or other busy retail shops (hello, Kenny G. fans).
Although the DVD doesn't feature much, it takes you back to an earlier time when things were normal and life proceeded the same way our planet continues to turn. If you're a traveling hobbyist or a serious one, this DVD will push you to set plans (either that, or we're the only ones feeling that way). Loving the city of Los Angeles all my life, it's fair I go out and visit the beautiful city of New York and everything else it offers. (My sister visited, and stayed in New York, thanks to the company she used to work for.) In fact, the year 2020 was supposed to be the year I made a bucket list to visit places I've never been to—New York being one of them—until all this happened. You're still in my sight, New York, nothing will stop us from meeting.
This DVD was encoded in 720x480 video resolution at a 29.97 frame rate (interlaced). Compressed with MPEG1/2 (mpgv), the color space used was ITU-R BT.601 Range. The audio was at 16 bits under the sample rate of 48000Hz. Compressed using LPCM and is on stereo.
While we're all looking forward to the standard sense of normalcy, there isn't a better time than to set future plans and to visit the Big Apple; We know we'd love to. The world continues to turn, as should our own human lives.
Enjoy these screenshots straight from the DVD itself of the Empire State Building and New York overall! Some of these places may be very familiar to you, as for some, it should have you add New York to your destination list.
We look forward to visiting you, New York! Everything will get back to normal, and no matter what, you will stand forever!
