Home Style Select: Old Fashioned Kettle Cooked Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips
Delicious, underrated and inexpensive brand of potato chips, despite the "slack-fill."

Nothing like enjoying your favorite TV shows, movies and/or online video content than with snacks. This underrated brand of potato chips are no exception: These are kettle cooked and readily available at your local dollar store! We recommend kettle cooked since the taste is crispy, crunchy and overall delicious. Priced over $1, you can't find a better deal! Let's talk about these brand of potato chips and if you should consider these or not.
These chips being made and produced in the USA is already a plus. The taste is just what you'd expect from potato chips: Crunchy on every bite. The barbecue flavor isn't too strong, but it does have a slight kick. The pieces themselves aren't too thick either, as something to consider when eating something known for its crispy texture, like kettle-cooked chips, and can be eaten without concern. Then again, don't eat a bunch at one time in case small pieces poke/pierce your gums, though some people do so anyway. Overall, quality of these chips are good and won't make you feel weird after eating some; and for the price, it's hard to beat, making it a budget-friendly choice for all snack fans.
Reason for the imperfect rating is "slack-fill"—food brands providing less than the amount proportional to bag size. This is something we've briefly discussed on previous reviews, and announced as such on our News (RSS) feed. Unless companies are looking to correct this, our rating stands despite complying within the network's website policy—that ratings cannot be changed after publication (posted online). Also, for those strictly watching what they eat, and its ingredients, will immediately be turned off by these chips which "contains a bioengineered food ingredient." Some people won't mind, but for others, this may be a concern with regards to your diet and health. In addition, even though this is common on most potato chip products, there's yet another warning stating that "consuming this product exposes you to chemicals." Being a current resident in California, these warning labels are common, from food products to gas stations. While these labels serve to warn consumers, as many are generally not bothered by such, others would have to take these warnings to consideration. Being that health and diet is of importance, you, the readers and consumer, must be wary. While you can consider these chips willy nilly, you're safer snacking on another brand that may or may not have these labels; or better yet, find a healthier option. "Health is wealth," as the saying goes. The taste of these chips aren't anything to warn people about; it's the warning labels that came along with it, which is enough for some to reconsider. Were it not for these warning labels, the "slack-fill" was what led us to rate this as such.
This is a snack that won't hurt your wallet. While delicious and tasty, heed the labels this brand of chips has before purchasing.
