Classic Concentration: How About Another Car?

I really had nothing against Classic Concentration both the TV show, the DOS version and this version. Sure, I have given this game a very low rating, however, if you can't beat the Bonus Round, plus no scores table, then it's only a game for leisure. That may be the underlying thought of the idea of playing video games, but for me, I believe playing a video game means you have a goal. It's you against Artificial Intelligence, and depending how the game is/was programmed, you've got to use your wits to overcome and beat the AI.

Frankly, I have no problem beating the computer opponent, but it was just that darn Bonus Round. On the DOS version, I've had no problems whatsoever. This NES version, however, I called out on its D-pad response making it hard to really navigate through the grid. It's not easy. On the other hand, if you play this game through emulation, I'm sure it'll be much easier. The thing is, I like to stick to the original tradition: sit on a couch/chair, plug the console to the TV and the electrical outlet, grab the controller, boot the game and play away.

Anyway, all was not lost. It was a fun game to play, but I must admit that the looping music does get to your head. The DOS version doesn't have any music playing while you're concentrating on matching and solving the rebus puzzles; It was just the intro music. I also gave the DOS version a neutral rating because I thought it needed more action and animation. Plus, the screenshots on the game box did not match the actual game so that was a disappointing one. Nevertheless, this NES version started out excellent until I began diving in more into the game.

However, I was able to win once—just once. And here's the video clip for proof:



After that, I never won a second time. And even if I did, what would my total score be? How much would I have won?

Bring back the actual television show. I'm better off with that.
