Pennysticks® The Pretzel Men Thin Pretzels
Besides the salt content, these pretzels are delicious and makes a great choice for a potluck or an ingredient. Once again, easy on the salt.
When it comes to guilt-free snacking, for some reason I go with pretzels. I've tried dipping pretzels in cheese and have tried chocolate-covered pretzels. Overall, however, I usually eat pretzels by themselves, and that's where products like this come along.
There are no funky smells, no funky flavors; It's all pure, straight-up pretzel goodness that you'd expect. Since it's best sprinkled with clear, rock salt, there are times when I feel it's incredibly salty. Coming from someone who enjoys salty foods, even though I'm not from the South, this is saying quite a bit. While I love the crispy sound of the *snap* when biting into a pretzel, the salt can be too much for some folks. Having said that, you likely would want to eat this with something that would lower the salty taste, or that would balance it (dipping sauces are perfect examples). If you're someone with a sweet tooth, then using these for your chocolate-covered pretzel recipe may be a great choice (though you may want to knock off some salt grains on each pretzel piece before covering them in chocolaty scrumptiousness).
Besides that critique, it's pretzels with no holdbacks but also no surprises. They're just pretzels, plain and simple. And if you've got recipes that require pretzels, this product will work just fine. In addition, besides ice cream, chips and/or chocolate, I recommend snacking on these since it's not as common as most might think.
Like I said, easy on the salt and this would've scored better. Assuming they'll stick with their original recipe when selling these, ease the overpowering saltiness with some dip.
