Skittles® Sweet Heat
A unique product from Skittles® adding spicy flavors to their candies. The heat is not that strong, making it tolerable for the average eater.

I'll never forget someone I used to be friends with, named Michael, and he would always boast about 'hot' girls, but couldn't stand the heat in the kitchen when it came to cooking. You know, even as a man myself, why would some men beg to be with a 'hot' woman if they can't stand the heat of an oven? That linguistic exclusivity would likely be applied to adding heat to our favorite food and snacks, and this product from Skittles is no exception. If we love spicy foods, why not apply it to the popular snacks, let alone everything?
I do want to say that the design is quite nice—all black and gentle to the eyes. Skittles is known for selling products with bright colors, namely red, "electric" green for their sour products, and purple. Of all those colors, this one stood out to me. Plus, a sweet snack with a spicy kick? Yes please! Though adding hot flavors to sweet stuff is odd from the get-go, but then again, there exists burgers that use donuts as buns: It's weird, but we looking forward to trying it.
The taste of the pieces are what you'd expect with Skittles. The best part is the heat coming in as you chew; It feels like you got the taste of the sweet, and now the heat will make itself present. Almost feels like both flavors are taking turns touching your taste buds as you eat them. The heat isn't overwhelming to the point where you need a fire extinguisher to take the spices out. I'd describe the heat as a modest 'pinch' to your taste buds, along with the warm flavor of the spice. Sadly, there are people out there who still think Sriracha is unbearable to this day, so the heat in this snack should give them an "entry level" path to give their tongue a little training. Besides that, the heat is enough for you to enjoy.
I'm not sure if other snack companies will jump the bandwagon and do the same thing, but we do know that a little heat to go with some sweet is a good idea. I doubt spicy flavors will go well with, say, chocolate, but then again, foodies are more than willing to try anything. Although, I feel that candy that has seafood or raw onion flavor probably aren't the best choices, right? Okay, I've said enough.
I highly recommend this!

- A nice experience tasting both sweet and spicy on candy. Brings a neat kick to the pieces without being too strong a flavor.
