Jolly Jolly Mango Pudding
This alternative brand, more commonly found in various Asian/Filipino grocery markets, are simple and delicious. The mango taste isn't too sweet and makes for a great dessert for lunch or dinner.
Pudding. I don't know about you but it looks like gelatin to me. Oh, good, let's get to it!
This brand of GELATIN you'll be able to find in most dedicated Asian supermarkets. It's a bit of a hidden gem but doesn't need too much market and hype as the taste speak for itself. Compared to the "usual" gelatin we're all used to, this one is as pure as you can get. The sweetness of the mango really brings out the goodness of this gelatin, so much so that, yes, you end up eating more than one cup. I ought to stop talking about myself.
Anyway, the package comes with tiny plastic spoons with a knife in the handle area. I believe that knife part helps you cut through the lid in case you can't open, or if you ripped apart, the lid of the cups. I haven't had the trouble in opening cleanly with the lip of the lid so it shouldn't be much of a factor. However, one thing to note: upon opening it, some gelatin juice may spill so open the lid of the cups slowly. Other than that, unless you're eating these on the go, I really don't see a use of the provided spoons. Feeding the kids? Sure, maybe.
Besides mango, other flavors are lychee and honey melon (my personal favorite). The honey melon flavor flies off the shelves being the most popular one, so if you see one, grab it!
Other than that, if this brand of gelatin stepped up against the likes of the mainstream-branded gelatin, I feel this may grow in popularity similar to what happened with Sriracha hot sauce.
