Signature Select: Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Despite the increase in price, due to popular demand, this remains one of our most highly recommended pizzas you can get. The ingredients mesh well together, and when properly cooked, this results in a restaurant-like quality that's ready to dine.

I can't believe it: pizza crafted as an art, taste-wise.

Signature Select by Better Living Brands has sold frozen pizza that I truly believe deserves an award for "Grocery/Food Item of the Year." Yes, year, since I have never been so impressed with the quality and taste of this pizza.

Here we go again: detractors and naysayers have something to say about frozen pizza, regardless of what brand. In fact, frozen pizza, let alone frozen meals, exist for the folks with little time to fully cook from scratch. It also provides those wanting to dive into the realm of culinary arts—the art of cooking. Not being able to exquisitely cook frozen meals like pizza properly means you shouldn't have a kitchen in your residence. Man/Lady up people, cooking isn't as cryptic as Matrix Calculus (click and see for yourself), and cooking frozen pizza is so easy. Just remember to wear oven mittens to prevent from burning your hands (yet people still forget this).

Ovens greatly vary and with that said, I'd suggest keeping a watch on this. Being that this is thin crust pizza, this could burn very easily and very fast. The box says 400° but I prefer the "easy-does-it" method. In other words, I recommend 350° or 375°. When cooking, I also recommend cooking the pizza straight on the oven rack—no foil, but discard the packaged cardboard. (However, if you do have those stone plates/trays to place your pizza on to create a fresh, crisp crust, that will work too.) Preheat the oven then gently place the pizza at the center of the oven. Since I can't speak for all ovens, I'd say check on the pizza after 10-15 minutes. After that, pay attention to the cheese, especially near the ends of the crust. If the cheese near the crust area is melted but turning brown, but the cheese in the center of the pizza is still melting slowly, you have the oven heat too high, and must turn it down. If the dough is getting soft but the cheese is barely showing any signs of melting, you have the oven heat too low and have to turn it up slightly. To cook this beauty of a pizza perfectly, you'll have to watch on the strength of the heat because the goal is to firmly crisp up the crust but do so without burning the cheese. That being said, you may want to toy with the temperature dial just a little bit (don't go overboard as it may ruin your oven). Because it's easy to follow directions on the box without much thought, this pizza is all about trusting your eyes—if the cheese is about to burn, if the dough isn't crisping up near the way you want it and/or if some parts are fully cooked while some are soft/raw. Lastly, the circulation of the heat inside the oven is indirect. The result? One half of the pizza may be cooked and delicious while the other half is soft and chewy. In that case, if one side is fully cooked, you'll have to rotate the pizza to complete cooking the other half.

All this responsibility for a simple, frozen pizza? We're not talking "simple" pizza; This is a work of art—gourmet quality.

When cooked properly, the result is looking at a bright, white light emanating from Heaven. It's so delicious, you'll forget you cooked it, making you think you had it delivered. I'm serious about this. And for a pizza this delicious, being sold for less than $4 at your friendly, neighborhood grocery store seems like the way to go. Yeah sure, my recommended cooking advices may be too much for the "average" homecook, but once you have it down, you'll be whipping up restaurant-quality pizzas for less than half the cost of ordering one. This is the perfect item for the penny-pincher.

The nice thing about this is how wonderful the garlic tastes; It's not strong at all. Also, I was truly impressed at the Alfredo sauce sometimes fooling my taste buds that I bit into a piece of bread dipped in a sauce dish served with Fettucini. That's how fresh it tastes.

This pizza is so delicious, I can't help myself. This is a work of art.

Keep up the excellent work, Signature Select!
